Both are Ibanez Tube Screamers built on the same core mid-humped overdrive circuit. The TS808 (the original) is warmer, smoother and slightly darker; the TS9 is brighter, a touch louder and more aggressive in the output stage — the difference comes mainly from the output-section resistors (and op-amp lore). The TS808 suits warm vintage blues; the TS9 cuts through a mix better. They are about 95% the same pedal.
