Line 6 Spider V settings and amp models

The Line 6 Spider V is a modeling practice amp with dozens of amp models and hundreds of presets, edited on the amp or in the free Spider V Remote app. Start from a preset close to your genre, pick the amp model, then set Drive and EQ.

1. Start from a preset. The Spider V ships with 200+ presets. Browse to one near your target genre first — it sets the amp model, effects and EQ, and is far faster than building from scratch.
2. Pick the amp model. The model is the core sound: a Clean model for sparkle, a Crunch/British model for classic rock, a Hi-Gain/Metal model for high gain.
3. Clean. Clean model. Drive low (2–3), Bass 5, Mid 5, Treble 6, add a little reverb. Good for pop, indie and practice.
4. Blues / classic rock. Crunch or British model. Drive 4–5, Mid up around 6, light reverb — dynamic and touch-sensitive.
5. Rock. Hard-rock model. Drive 5–6, Bass 5, Mid 6, Treble 6, a touch of delay.
6. Metal. Hi-gain/metal model. Drive 7–8, Bass 6, Mid 4–5, Treble 6, and add the built-in noise gate for tight palm mutes.
7. Use the Spider V Remote app. The free app lets you browse and download tones, edit every parameter and save presets over Bluetooth or USB — the easiest way to dial and store your sounds.
💡 Start from a factory preset near your genre, then swap the amp model and tweak Drive + EQ. Use the Spider V Remote app to browse, edit and save — much faster than dialing on the amp.
