Metal. This amp is not voiced for high gain. For tight metal, keep the Drive channel Treble low and run a dedicated distortion pedal into the clean channel instead — you will get a far tighter, more usable tone.
Best upgrade path. The Frontman shines as a clean pedal platform. An overdrive or distortion pedal into the Normal channel beats the built-in Drive channel for almost every genre.
